Abstract: Llimoniella caloplacae S. Kondr. & Khodosovtsev sp. nova growing on Caloplaca borysthenica Khodosovtsev & S. Kondr. sp. nova from naked loess and mosses in the Festuco-Limonetea plant communities of the southern part of Ukraine are described, illustrated, and compared with allied taxa. [New: Caloplaca borysthenica Khodosovtsev & S. Kondr. sp. nov. and Llimoniella caloplacae S. Kondr. & Khodosovtsev sp. nov. are described from Ukraine.

Abstract: Status of three natural groups of xanthorioid lichens (Teloschistaceae), namely Xanthomendoza ulophyllodes, Xanthoria elegans and Teloschistes villosus groups is revised. Their status is elevated to the generic level. They are segregated from other hitherto accepted groups, namely Oxneria (with type species Oxneria alfredii (S. Kondr. & Poelt) S. Kondratyuk & Karnefelt) from Xanthomendoza, Rusavskia (with type species Rusavskia elegans (Link) S. Kondratyuk. & Karnefelt) from Xanthoria; and Xanthoanaptychia (with type species Xanthoanaptychia villosa (Ach.) S. Kondratyuk & Karnefelt) from. Teloschistes. Descriptions and comparison. with allied lichen groups are provided. Totally 39 new combinations (21 for the representatives of the genus Oxneria, 14 species of the genus Rusavskia, and 6 of the genus Xanthoanaptychia) mainly for all Holarctic representatives of xanthorioid groups mentioned are proposed. Synonyms for some taxa are for the first time provided. Abstract: The largest family of lichen-forming fungi, the Parmeliaceae, is reviewed. It includes 79 genera in current use and ca 2726 species, a large majority of which belong to one of five main clades: the parmelioid, cetrarioid, usneoid, alectorioid and hypogymnioid. However, 21 genera are positioned outside these clades, and four genera in current use still lack DNA- data. The family has been shown to be monophyletic and the generic classification is relatively well-settled compared with other lecanoralean families. Each clade and its genera are presented here with the latest results from phylogenetic analyses and current taxonomy. In addition, a historical outline of the family and its most prominent researchers is provided. © 2012 The Authors. Nordic Journal of Botany.
