Abstract: 27 figures. 3 tables. [Study conducted on Parmelia bolliana, Physcia stellaris, Xanthoria fallax, and Physconia grisea from South Dakota. Fumigation at 2.5 ppm caused decreased photosynthesis; the more xerophytic species were more sensitive. "Chlorophyll content in these species was not measurably altered by fumigation." Respiration in Physcia stellaris and Parmelia bolliana also decreased significantly following fumigation at 2.5 ppm.]
