Abstract: 9 fig. 3 tab. ["It is realized that among yellow Acarospora species two natural groups can be distinguished: Acarospora s. str., including the type species A. schleicheri and Pleopsidium Körber (i.e. the former "Acarospora" chlorophana). It is shown that the two genera are different in ascus construction, pycnidia, upper cortex of the thallus, secondary chemistry, habitat ecology and biogeography." New: Pleopsidium gobiense (H. Magn.) comb. nov. Two other species are recognized, P. flavum and P. chlorophanum, and a key for the genus is provided.]
