Includes an introductory section, and three appendices, one on nomenclature and common names, one on collecting, curating and identifying lichens, and one on lichens and air quality. The color photos were taken by Sylvia Sharnoff and Stephen Sharnoff, and drawings were done by Alexander Mikulin.]
