Abstract: 3 fig. 1 tab. ["ITS rDNA sequence data shows (sic) that Diploicia and Diplotomma species form a monophyletic clade distinct from other Buellia species. This indicates that Diplotomma merits acceptance as a genus, and suggests that Diploicia should be treated as a synonym of Diplotomma, the earlier name." Also, the molecular data support distinctness of Diplotomma rivas-martinezii from D. venustum, but do not support the recognition of Diploicia subcanescens in a species pair with D. canescens. New: Diplotomma pulverulenta (Anzi) D. Hawksw. comb. nov. (for the lichenicolous species generally known as Buellia pulverulenta.]
