  • The Field Investigation Database at Botanical Museum, Oslo - updated irregularily.

The data sets from BG, O and hb. Holien are simplified, but unedited records copied from the PC-based databases kept at these institutions/person. The data set from TROM is based on listing of selected data from the herbarium database developed by Museumsprosjektet. The data set from S was prepared and mailed by Anders Tehler in 2002 and edited for compatibility with the other data sets by Bjørn Petter Løfall and Einar Timdal. The data set from UPS is downloaded from the address above and edited by E. Timdal for compatibility, latest download in 2002. Please consult the original web databases of S and UPS for recent changes in the data sets, if there are doubts about correct interpretation during editing, or for some omitted fields. The data set from DUKE is computerized by Tor Tønsberg and kept in a PC-based database in BG. The data set from MIN is the Norwegian records in the PC-based herbarium database at that institution, prepared and mailed by Cliff Wetmore in 1999 and edited for compitibility by E. Timdal. The field notes are those submitted to O over WWW since December 1997. The field investigations are kept in a PC-based database at O, but we are planning to automatically add those submitted via the Web page above.

The data sets consist of nearly all computerized Norwegian specimens identified to species level in the herbaria listed above. BG, DUKE, MIN, O, TROM, the field note database, and the field investigation database are fully computerized. S, UPS and hb Holien are only partly computerized.

Thanks are due to Håkon Holien and the curators of BG, DUKE, MIN, S, TROM, and UPS for allowing us to use their data sets and merge them into a single database.
